The following is a list of mentors who are approved by DPCA to work with student judges of the Doberman Pinscher. DPCA provides each mentor with access to educational materials that can be used in mentoring. The DPCA intent is to ensure the quality of the process and to afford a somewhat uniform method of mentoring. Our goal is to provide you with easy access to a qualified mentor in your area. The list is provided by state.

DPCA  has a new process that allows mentors to evaluate the judges that they are mentoring…. and a process by which the judges can evaluate the mentoring process that you provided.   Judges who would like to have a DPCA approved mentor observe them judge the breed and have an educational discussion afterward, can make request via our online form.  We can’t guarantee that we can cover all shows at all locations.  This is done on a volunteer basis by DPCA members, who bear the expenses themselves.  This is available to any judge approved for the breed, whether on permit or permanent status.

DPCA Approved Mentor Information

The Board of the Doberman Pinscher Club of America selects the Chair of the Judges Education Committee (JEC). The JEC Chair then selects the people who will serve on the JEC Committee. Then the JEC Committee selects the Committees that fall under their umbrella. The Judges Mentoring Committee falls in this category.

Educating prospective judges and the welfare of our breed and our club are top priority. Beyond our basic requirements we want people with honesty, integrity, and that place the welfare of the breed and the club above their own personal agenda. They must be dedicated to the Doberman Pinscher through total support of our AKC approved breed standard.

Being able to communicate and mentor effectively are definitely a plus. All mentors must agree to only mentor in concert with the AKC approved standard of the Doberman Pinscher.

In this vein we will be hosting educational opportunities to give presentations as well as keeping up to date in all areas of education technology.

The Judges Mentoring Committee fills vacancies and adds mentors as the need arises by invitation only. However we do welcome inquires from interested qualified DPCA Members
